Cookie Policy

This website uses one optional kind of cookie — Google Ads cookies, to measure our advertising — and only if you accept it.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website can store in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and tracking pixels. Websites use them, for example, to remember settings, measure visits or show advertising.

What this website uses

Your cookie choice

When you choose Accept or Reject, the website saves that choice in your browser, so it does not ask again on every page:

  • local storage for this website only — not a cookie, and never sent to any server;
  • name hg-consent-v1, value granted or denied;
  • kept until you change your choice or clear your browser data.

This is the only thing the website stores while advertising cookies are off. It is needed to respect your choice and contains nothing that identifies you.

Advertising and conversion measurement: Google Ads (only if you accept)

Provider: Google LLC. Purpose: to see which of our Google ads bring visitors to this website (advertising attribution) and whether those visits lead to calls or estimate requests (conversion measurement). This website's Google tag is configured not to permit ad personalization.

  • Cookies on this website's own domain: the _gcl_ family. In our testing, accepting set _gcl_au, with an expiry 90 days later; other _gcl_ cookies can appear, for example when you arrive by clicking one of our ads. Google describes _gcl_ cookies as helping advertisers measure how many people who click their ads go on to take an action, and states that they last 90 days.
  • Local storage on this website's own domain: in our testing, the Google tag also saved an item named _gcl_ls, which it uses for the same measurement.
  • Google may also read or set cookies on its own domains, such as google.com or doubleclick.net. Those cookies follow Google's policies.

See how Google uses cookies, and the Privacy Policy for the information Google may receive.

Hosting and security

We use third-party service providers to host, secure and operate this website. In some situations — for example, if a provider shows a security check to a browser it suspects of automated abuse — the provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie. Such cookies are used only to protect the website, not for analytics or advertising.

Your choice

  • On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept Google Ads cookies. Accept and Reject are equal choices: nothing from Google loads before you accept, and nothing loads after Reject.
  • You can change your choice at any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page.
  • If you switch to Reject, the website stops loading the Google tag and deletes the _gcl_ cookies and local storage items on its own domain. Cookies on Google's domains can be deleted in your browser settings, and you can manage ad personalization in Google's ad settings.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, we treat it as a request not to activate optional advertising measurement — no banner and no Google tag — unless you accept in Cookie Settings.
  • Do Not Track: this older browser setting has no agreed standard for how websites should respond, but we also treat it as Reject unless you accept in Cookie Settings.

Links to other websites

Links to services such as Yelp or WhatsApp take you to websites run by other companies, which use their own cookies under their own policies once you visit them.

Your browser settings

Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies and local storage. Blocking them does not stop this website from working; it only prevents ad measurement, and the banner may ask again.

Changes

If we add other tools that use cookies or similar technologies, we will update this page first and, where they are optional, ask for your consent before they are used.
